Oliver Hazard Perry
Pullman built in 1954 for the Canadian National's "Super
Continental", this sleeping car was originally named Mount
Resplendent. The car was transferred to VIA Rail Canada in
1978 and its name was shortened to Resplendent. The car
was rebuilt in 1982 with 3 bedrooms, a buffet and a lounge.
A private owner started its second rebuilding in 1993 and
completed work two years later. It was acquired by its
current owner in 1997 and refurbished again in 2000.
This car is now known as the Oliver Hazard Perry, and
features a master bedroom, two bedrooms with Captains beds,
two showers, a full kitchen, dining room for full meal
service and a spacious lounge with large observation windows.
Equipped with stereo sound system, a DVD player and
wide-screen plasma TV. You're greeted with the warmth of
beautiful ribbon and burled mahogany woodwork throughout.
Cincinnati, Ohio is its home.
