MARDI GRAS in New Orleans 2009!

Ever considered New Orleans for Mardi Gras but didnÕt feel like messing with the logistics?  The Cincinnati Railway Company is anticipating a luxury rail excursion for 2009.  Please call if you are interested and we will determine whether or not we pursue this trip based on that interest.

Friday  – Board the Oliver Hazard Perry and Birch Grove at McCullough Yard in Norwood.  Enjoy cocktails and horsdourves before making the descent into Cincinnati Union Terminal to join the westbound Amtrak Cardinal en route to Chicago.

Saturday  -  Awake to a breakfast prepared by Chef Bill before arriving in Chicago around 11:00 am.  Once you arrive, you are free to explore Chicago on your own for Lunch and Dinner .  Retire to your sleeping quarters at the end of the evening in ChicagoÕs Union Terminal yard.

Sunday, – Enjoy another day in Chicago at your leisure, but be sure to report back to the railcars by 6:00. Depart Chicago on The City of New Orleans at 8:00pm.  Stay up for cocktails if you wish, and retire to your sleeping quarters.

Monday – Awake to breakfast and coffee followed by lunch.  Our arrival in New Orleans should be approx 3:32 pm, just in time to explore the city on Mardi Gras Eve.  Retire back to the cars at the end of the day.

Tuesday – Mardi Gras! Grab your coffee and a Danish for a full day of celebration!

Wednesday  – Awake for breakfast or sleep in – It was a long night!  A light breakfast and lunch will be served on board before departure at 1:45p.  Dinner will be served around 6pm.  Enjoy the relaxing trip back to Chicago!

Thurs – Arrive Chicago 9am – A light breakfast will be served.  Some may wish to terminate the trip in Chicago, if not, enjoy another day of sightseeing in Chicago before returning to the car.

Fri  – Depart Chicago 3p – A light breakfast will be served.  Lunch will be on your own, but be sure to make it back to the car before 1:30 for the 3:00p departure.  Dinner will be served en route to Cincinnati.  Retire to your sleeping quarters  for you last night on the train!

Sat – Arrive Cincinnati approx. 3:29am.  Awake and disembark at McCullough Yard!
