2008 Public Rail Excursions

Cherry Blossom Excursion 2008!

Cincinnati – Washington D.C.- Cincinnati
April 10th – April 14th

Join the Cincinnati Railway group as three of their Luxury Railcars travel to Washington, D.C. for the annual Cherry Blossom Celebration.  Private cars, Observatory, Birch Grove and Oliver Hazard Perry will travel behind Amtrak on the beautiful Cardinal Route through Kentucky, West Virginia & Virginia.

Enjoy the use of the dome lounge which affords you a 360-degree unobstructed view of the countryside as you enjoy the thirteen hour ride from Cincinnati to Washington.  Retire to you private bedroom on the Birch Grove, Observatory, or Oliver Hazard Perry.

Gourmet meals will be served in the Dome of the Observatory car.  Our professional chef, porter & Servers will attend to your every need.  Stay aboard the railcars at night in Washington’s Union Station as they serve as your rolling hotel.

Thursday, April 10th  –Board the cars at McCullough Yard in Norwood, Ohio any time after dinner but before 10:00pm.  Feel free to have family members or guests tour the cars and to see you off.  Light snacks and drinks will be served. Our crew will move our cars 8 miles to Cincinnati’s Union Terminal around 1 or 2 am.
Friday, April 11th – As you sleep, we will attach to Amtrak’s Cardinal at around 3:00 am.  You will awake to a full course breakfast.  Lunch and dinner will also be served this day.  We will arrive in Washington, D.C. around 7:30 pm on Friday.  You will be free to explore the city upon arrival.
Saturday, April 12th – A continental breakfast will be available when you awake. Lunch and dinner are on your own as you explore the many Washington sites.
Sunday, April  13th – Again, a continental breakfast will be served as you do some last minute sightseeing.  We will be required to be on board by noon for a 12:30 pm departure.  Lunch and dinner will be served.
Monday, April 14th – We will arrive back at our yard early in the morning Monday.  A continental breakfast will be available as you leave the car.

            Includes exclusive use of the Oliver Hazard Perry for up to 6 people (in 3 double bedrooms).  Enjoy your own private chef, flat screen television and all the other amenities of the Oliver Hazard Perry.
