Trip Summary:
Join the Cincinnati Railway Company as we travel to Portland, OR to ride behind one of the “world’s most famous beautiful locomotives,” the Southern Pacific locomotive no. 4449 aka “Daylight.” We will be taking three of our Amtrak compliant cars for your viewing and accommodations. Featured will be our “Observatory” car with a 360 degree viewing dome that will give passengers a fantastic view of the steam locomotive. Also featured is the “Chapel Hill” business car which is the ultimate rail experience for any traveler looking to ride in luxury. We will also be bringing our “Birch Grove” sleeper that provides comfortable and private accommodations ideal for long trips. Experience first class accommodations and dining, while witnessing the famous 4449 steam locomotive. This is one rail trip that is not to be missed!

Passengers will get their choice of private accommodations onboard one of our three rail cars (The Observatory, The Chapel Hill & Birch Grove)

Note: All passengers will be asked to donate $25 to Passenger Rail Today. Checks should be made at the time of the deposit to Passenger Rail Today which is a PAC to support passenger rail service.

Pricing includes all food, drink and lodging while rolling. Also permits passage into “Chapel Hill,” ““Birch Grove,” and the lower level lounge of the “Observatory.”
Note: Four seats plus any unsold seats will be reserved for our guests staying onboard.

Master Bedroom A:

Accommodations include a queen sized bed and a private shower & toilet.
Bedroom B:

Accommodations include a full sized double bed, in-room sink and a jack and jill bathroom, shared with bedroom C, with toilet and shower.
Bedroom C:

Accommodations include a full sized double bed in-room sink and a jack and jill bathroom, shared with bedroom B, with toilet and shower.
Birch Grove
Double Bedroom: Bedrooms: A - F

Accommodations include 6’ 4” twin beds that are stored in the wall during the day to create a private sitting area and pulled down at night for upper and lower berth sleeping. These rooms each contain a private toilet and share the public shower with the other Birch Grove bedrooms and roomettes
Single Roomette:
$5,695 with private toilet
Roomettes: 1, 2 & 4 are available
Accommodations include a 6’ 4” twin bed that is stored in the wall during the day to create a private sitting area and pulled down at night for sleeping. These rooms each contain a private toilet and share the public shower with the other Birch Grove bedrooms and roomettes.

Accommodations include a 6’ 4” twin bed that is stored in the wall during the day to create a private lounge and pulled down at night for sleeping. These roomettes share the public toilet and shower with the other Birch Grove bedrooms and roomettes.
Chapel Hill
Bedroom A:
$5,995 based on a double occupancy

Marjorie Merriweather Post bedroom, this bedroom is the largest in size. It sleeps one passenger comfortably, but can sleep two in the captain’s size bed. ( Three quarter size double bed.)
Bedroom B:
$6,995 based on a single occupancy
E.F Hutton’s bedroom, this single bedroom has the only remaining original German-silver (stainless steel) washing basin of the four bedrooms.
Bedroom C:
$5,795 based on a double occupancy

This room sleeps two with a standard Pullman fold-away upper berth.
Bedroom D:
$5,795 based on a double occupancy

Pricing is the same for all the rooms listed above, but includes a day pass for any of the chosen days. Riding pass comes discounted 10% off! Although we have reserved 4 seats in the dome for our overnight passengers, some may opt to purchase a reserved seat at 10% off.

$Regular fare for room accommodations and additional day passes
Deposit: $1,000 per person is required to reserve a spot onboard unless booking is for less than that amount, in which case payment in full will be required.
Cancellation Policy: Due to the unique circumstances of this trip, deposits become non-refundable as of May 15, 2009. If the trip is forced to cancel, the entire amount will be refunded.
